Safeguarding our planet for future generations

A sustainable and equitable world

At Climate Equity, we believe sustainability and equity are mutually supporting – carbon abatement is necessary for global equity, and global equity is necessary for environmental sustainability

To reduce inequality, locally and globally, focusing on refugee support in Australia and carbon abatement and youth education in Bangladesh

Climate Equity Inc. was established in Australia in 2008. Our mission is to address inequality locally and globally, including refugee support in Melbourne, Australia and projects which abate carbon and provide STEM education for disadvantaged youth in Bangladesh.

Clean Cooking Solutions
By replacing conventional wood-fueled stoves with modern induction cooktops, we are improving household air quality, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting sustainable energy solutions. Our project aligns with global efforts to mitigate climate change while enhancing the well-being of communities.
The Bangladesh STEM Project empowers underprivileged students by providing hands-on STEM education, including programming and technology skills. Our goal is to improve their thinking capabilities and equip them with essential knowledge to thrive in the modern world. Through interactive learning, we inspire young minds to explore science, engineering, and innovation for a better future.

Working with local volunteers, we support refugee families with accommodation, food, medical care, shopping, government support, driving tuition, education, friendship and cultural awareness – helping them move from surviving to thriving in their adopted home.

We also support disadvantaged youth to play their favourite sport, by funding uniforms and registration fees.

Clean cooking can reduce pollution from burning wood or coal in traditional stoves and protect human health.

Worldwide, billions of people cook with polluting fuels and technologies, including solid fuel and biomass such as wood, charcoal, animal dung, crop residues, and coal. These fuels release plumes of smoke and soot with significant health impacts that contribute to millions of premature deaths each year.

Traditional cooking practices also produce greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions stem from two sources. First, unsustainable harvesting of fuel drives forest degradation and prevents reforestation. Second, the combustion of biomass fuels such as wood, charcoal, and dung releases significant amounts of carbon dioxide, methane, and black carbon directly into the atmosphere. Together, these impacts contribute to climate change and undermine global efforts to reduce emissions.
